Welcome home to the Walnut Tree

This is the second time in 70 years this unique and stunning Grade II 16th century cottage has become available for the next family to enjoy. Welcome to The Walnut Tree Cottage!  You might just appreciate that the 21 st century version is probably the best this “beautiful lady” has looked in over 400 years and “she” is ready to look after you for many years to come.

Start your journey of exploration with this welcoming Reception Hall filled with golden wooden floors and beams, you will appreciate the majestic wood burner always ready to please the eyes or provide you with some warmth over the winter days.  You will discover plenty of original features along your visit, giving this Grade II listed cottage so much charm and character.

The living room gives you this instant feeling of calm and peace, the cottage sits in a tranquil setting but this room offers a timeless sense of relaxation. Maybe the feature fireplace and log burner invites you to sit quietly with a glass of wine in contemplation of the light casting dancing shadows upon the wooden beams?

The adjacent corridor will take you to the more recently added wing with a cloakroom, a study and a TV room which could be used as a ground floor bedroom.

Wander to the other side of the Cottage and you find an inviting kitchen and Aga to cook up many delightful feasts to be enjoyed in the adjacent Dining Room with French doors over looking the beautiful garden.

Ascend upstairs

The narrow landing and the ever present beams give the upstairs quarters an air of cosiness.  The Master bedroom is light and spacious with fitted wardrobes and a large beautiful en-suite bathroom.  On the other side of the landing there are a further 3 spacious bedrooms and another large bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. Don’t forget to check the views from all windows: as you might already have discovered, the grounds are idyllic.

Stepping outside

With stunning grounds of 2.8 acres, The Walnut tree grounds offer a courtyard, a carport for three vehicles with additional two double garages to the right of the house.  Three wonderful stables, tack room/workshop/hayloft and menagerie.   All  with the added benefit of full running facilities and ready to use. A large paddock and your very own hay field.  Truly amazing, all outbuildings have been renovated to a very high standard with no expense spared.   A highly desirable choice for the Equestrian enthusiast for their own personal use or possible business venture.  A large and well nurtured vegetable garden and greenhouse  not forgetting the beautiful large lawned areas with established trees to the rear and sides of the property.
