Welcome…

Arriving to the communal entrance door, to only three select apartments, at the base of this truly unique residence you are in for a real treat in both architectural terms and in what you are about to ‘acquire’ from a visual perspective. Beautifully proportioned open-plan living accommodation with wonderful curved architecture features to the living/dining room along with great views out of the windows, and not just from here… For if you would like to walk over to the glazed door, set behind the lovely extended curvature of the wall, you will not just be able to gaze out of it but open it and step out onto the rst of your balconies! Image the summer months with soft refreshing breezes and the sounds of wildlife drifting up from the river below, not to mention the views!

Enjoy your proffered up cup of tea or coffee and notice how the attractive modern design of the kitchen is discreetly set back in its own location, whilst at the same time extending round to nicely conjoin the open-plan configuration of the living/dining room and kitchen.  Returning to the reception hall you will have noticed this is not the usual expected ‘corridor’ design – with its twists and turns adding even more to its unique charm. The spiral staircase may be tempting you to explore upwards because of the promise it holds, but save the best till last…

Firstly take a look at the two double bedrooms. One has an en-suite shower room and next to this is a bathroom with a Jacuzzi style bath, lovely… You can see that currently one of these bedrooms makes for a great sitting room or even as a TV room perhaps?  Storage isn’t in short supply either because what you can’t see are two separate large vaulted loft spaces with extension ladders to both for easy access. As well as there being a cupboard to the side of the main entrance hall.

Lighting the way…

Delay no longer and let the chic maritime wall lighting enhance your way up the spiral stairway to arrive at a room very few may lay claim to. This ‘lantern style’ belvedere is somewhere you will probably find yourself frequently gravitating to, be it day or night. Particularly if used as a work from home office or perhaps to enjoy as part of your retirement. Maybe you have set your sights on this being a second/holiday home?

A view to delight…

It is said beauty is in the eye of the beholder – but someone looking from this belvedere will have a great deal of beauty to behold. Open the French doors and step outside and you will and you have a 300° walk around balcony. Stunning views take in the tidal River Chelmer which
runs from east to west, now look straight ahead across the river and you will notice The Sunny Sailor pub. In-fact whichever way you may look there is so much to take delight in, including views up Maldon’s iconic Market Hill leading directly to the High Street of this fascinating town.

OUT AND ABOUT

This historic hilltop town has a rich and unique heritage that is waiting for you to explore. Maldon town centre has numerous historical sites and listed buildings.
On the High Street there is a good balance between popular stores and smaller independents, which include artisan and specialist shops, traditional butchers, bakers and more. Both local and international cuisine is available from various venues throughout Maldon.

Nearby Promenade Park is a haven for both locals and tourists alike. Walk to the end of the promenade and you will arrive at the statue of Brythnoth – the leader of Anglo-Saxon forces and who died in the Battle of Maldon against the Vikings in 991. The ‘prom’ as
it is know locally is an idyllic place to walk or sit and watch the activity on the river, and always makes for a great family day out with its many attractions.

Ship ahoy…

Maldon is so rich in maritime heritage it dates back to prehistoric man! Boat building began around 1171 from hence began an important local industry of boat and ship building, steadily developing by the 17th/18th century. With the industrial revolution came two new crafts to Maldon waters – a fleet of Fishing Smacks and Thames Sailing Barges.

Experience for yourself the pleasure and excitement of sailing on one of these historic barges! Choose your trip from one of many choices available and discover how cargo was transported a century ago.
