Layer-de-la-Haye is a small village dating back to Saxon times. It is only 4 miles from Colchester but has kept a sense of tranquility away from the housing projects surrounding the city.  6 miles away from Marks Tey train station and 7 miles away from Mersea Island.  This village location offers the best of both worlds as it is rural but never far from “civilisation” or the beautiful beaches nearby.
